Last Friday I had the pleasure to visit Dr. Rhonda Stroud’s group at Naval Research Lab in Washington DC to give a seminar and be considered for a lab manager position in the group. I was very impressed with the facilities, and even more impressed with the people. It can be difficult to deliver a 45 minute talk, but the audience was engaged and interested, making the presentation a joy to give. I also really enjoy sharing my research, which makes presentations that much easier. NRL feels like a great environment for a junior scientist to grow and develop ideas. I am hopeful that I made a good impression and will hear good news in the coming days.
